Dr. Lucies likes Capella and so should you

The following blog post is based on information provided by Blogitive. For more information, please visit Blogitive.com.

I'm amazed to find out that I can get an online phd. Isn't that amazing? I just said I was amazed, so it must be amazing. Do I amaze you too?

Well, whether or not I amaze you is not important. What is important is that you know Dr. Christopher Lupcies--especially if you are interested in one of the faces behind Capella University (which I will mention later). He's a stand up guy in my humble opinion. He works in the University's Human Services department, and, on top of that, was just named president-elect of the Texas Mental Health Counselors Association! I hope he had an online party!

Dr Lucies teaches CACREP(the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) counseling education and counseling studies programs in the Capella University’s School of Human Services. (Which sounds like a great program at the online university.) He was freshly elected in September. I'm sure, right now, part of you is wanting to congratulate him, and the other part is asking, "What does that mean exactly?" Let me break it down for you (you can congratulate him after): he will serve a 3 year term, which will be divided into 3 parts. The first year will be his time as president. The second year will be his time as a consultant. And then the third year is where it gets awesome, if you are an educational type--Dr. Lucies gets to be a consultant to the actual TMHCA board. That means he'll actually be organizing board meetings, the association's yearly conference, mentoring other board members, consulting on issues that are ethical, speaking publicly, and even advocating. (You know how much I appreciate good advocating, right? Answer: a lot.) It sounds like a great job, and I'm sure Dr. Lucies will do a great job for good ol' Capella. But, also, he hopes to work toward unapologetically refining the LPC licensure title in the state of TX, to better show the roles of mental health counselors! You pumped yet? He wants to increase membership too; which will create opportunities for all members to become involved within the association! He's probably more interested in this, than you are, but if you go to Capella, this is good to know.

By the way, did you know that Capella University is the first and as of now, only online university that has received official accreditation from CACREP from two master's degree specializations? Yup. That. Has. Happened.

If you want to know more about Capella, you can search through my blog, Google them again, or look at the fun facts below (probably the best option):
