A story about law and swimming:

Simmons Jannace & Stagg, the name for 3 names of people you can trust. They are a law firm that represented Nancy Burpee. Don't know who Nancy Burpee is? Oh...you are about to. She is a world-class paralympic swimmer. She attempted tp participate in the 2004 Paralympic Games that were in Athens, Greece. S, J & S represented her on a pro bono basis after she was disqualified by an Australian referee on a procedural technicality. So dumb, especially since Ms. Burpee set world records in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle at the trials! After her disqualification, Ms. Burpee telephoned Kevin P. Simmons, a partner at Simmons, Jannace & Stagg, and asked the firm to intercede on her behalf to have the disqualification overturned. She also wanted t hem to take action against the United STate Olympic Committee Team America-style to get her on the Olympic team. What did they do? The firm commenced arbitration under the U.S. Olympic Committee rules and live testimony was taken from the swim refs in Canada and Australia(down under). Simmons, Jannace & Stagg argued that the Australian referee showed bias against Ms. Burpee by making various comments indicating that the Australian referee did not want Ms. Burpee competing against an Australian paralympic swimmer. The firm also demonstrated that the U.S. Paralympic swim trials were not held in accordance with the paralympic rules. None of this worked. But...Ms. Burpee has continued her swim career and will compete in the World Championships in the upcoming year. Ms. Burpee!!! Hey-yo!

Diamonds on your bracelets!

Diamonds on yo bracelets:Buy diamond bracelets. No, seriously. Don't listen to Kanye West.According to this one legend, a curse befell the large, blue diamond when it was stolen from this idol in India. From this, a curse foretold bad luck and death not only for the owner of the diamond, but for all who touched it. Whether you believe in this curse or not doesn't matter. What does, is that the Hope diamond has been very intriguing to many people for many centuries. Its perfect quality. It's large size. Heck, even its rare color make it really, really beautiful and different.

Plus, it's history is awesome. It has been owned by King Louis XIV. It was stolen durin the freakin French Revolution. Then sold to earn money for gambling (Damn.). It was worn to raise money for charity. Finally, last but not least, the final straw, wam bam, some other stuff, it was donated to the Smithsonian Institution!Remember the story at the beginning of this entry? Well, it was a man named Tavernier who made the trip to India. He is the one who stole a large blue diamond from the forehead (or eye) of a statue of the Hindu goddess Sita.Tavernier was torn apart by wild dogs on a trip to Russia after he had stolen the diamond. That was the first horrible death attributed to the curse. When the Hope diamond went on sale in 1949, it was bought by Harry Winston, a New York jeweler. Winston wore it a bunch to raise money for charity, but some believe he donated it to get rid of the curse. He donated the Hope diamond to the Smithsonian Institution in 1958 to be the focal point of a newly established gem collection as well as to inspire others to donate. You won't find the Hope Diamond at Primestyle.com. But primestyle.com does offer the finest selection of quality diamonds & jewelry at low prices. It's actually located in the world famous diamond district of Manhattan! I've been there!
